Father of Emen and Cheif of the Kernlock Half-Orcs
Leader of the Kernlock tribe, Gorcheck is considered the strongest and most experienced of the Half-orcs when it comes to combat. He is a harsh leader, but still has some concern for the lower families because he knows that without the craftsmen and laborers turned out by these families, the tribe would fail. He is caught trying to balance his concern for the future of the tribe and the other families’ scathing prejudice against any Half-orcs of a lower bloodline than themselves. While still a formidable warrior, Gorcheck can feel age catching up with him. He wants to instill his views into the minds of his sons, but they have become lost in the fervor of prejudice that has swept most of the families and are for the most part blinded by collective scorn. The political arena of leadership long overtook Gorcheck without his notice and he has lost much of his previous influence. He fears that if he speaks too loudly to right the path of the clan, he will be overturned and the tribe will fall into chaos. His most recent loss of his daughter, Emen, hit him hard. He wanted to set her up to be a part of a change within the tribe, but she was too radical in her demands and he could not keep her impatience under control. With his family falling to hate and prejudice and his daughter gone, Gorcheck feels he is quickly being pushed to the end of his rope.
